Back from Kuching

Spent 4 days rotting in Kuching from 02-05 Aug 09. Tis year's travel hasn't been smooth-sailing. Why did i say so?

- flight by emirates to paris from dubai was so turbulent n got mi panicking for de 1st time of all my flight experiences

- got left stranded by hotel in Rome, such that I felt like a mad dog running to-and-fro other hotels

- my flight to kuching by jetstar got delayed for 5 hours (from ETD 1650 to ETD 2200). In de end I consoled myself by really enjoying a plate of chicken rice in T1's food gallery, provided complimentary by Jetstar as refreshment

- was on our way to Gunung Gading National Park in de outskirt of Kuching, but connecting bus' timing doesn't allow (have to wait for another 2 hours which was a definite no-no under de hot weather)

- got so seriously bored that I was completely loss at wat to do in kuching (no wonder the cheap air tickets?)

however, now that i'm back home, i am starting to miss the hotel experience tat i had in Hilton Kuching.

Perhaps de most enjoyable part of ma kuching trip was soaking in de foam bath everidae! Yes! Practicalli everidae i would request for 3 bottles of Crab Tree & Evelyn's body wash. So tat I could make de bathtub as foamy as it could get. Even though I had not a red wine beside mi, at least I got a bottle of sparkling ribena on day 3 and a can of chrysanthemum on day 4. de latter cools mi down.

Next most enjoyable was tanning in de hotel's pool. two days in a row i tanned, but when i asked sis if i've become darker, she said no? unfortunately i had not any tanning oil with mi, cos mine's a big bottle at home which could not get on flight due to liquid restriction of less than 100ml? seriously i hate de osama incident. air travel has been so much of a hassle since then.

anihow, we got ourselves a good treat at Benson Seafood Restaurant. Fried squids were nice, prawns, deer meat n four seasons' vegetables which tasted so crispy - ma first time trying.

got to try sarawak kolo mee at a food outlet near de hotel, which tastes like maggi mee to mi? and sarawak laksa at de hotel's breakfast buffet (oh! so sinful earli in de morning). but ma continuous swimming at de pool later in de afternoon did compensate for it.

went to de Spring, which was kuching's biggest shopping mall. but sadly, it looks solemn n empty to mi. cal bought mi a levi's bag by surprise. if onli i knew i wud get something as a present, i would haf realli shopped all over n make a careful evaluation.

had tomato mee for lunch. veri nice n appetising. 1st time i hear of tomato mee. it tastes like mee bandung, juz tat it wasn't spicy.

lastly, i am glad tat our return flight isn't delayed by some operational reasons tat budget airlines like Jetstar are capable of coming up with. so tat i could reach home on-time. though, in ma opinion, air asia is de worst in "on-time performance."

went bugis temple earlier tis afternoon before having buffet lunch with sis at funan. was happi to be able to make use of ma ntu student card to get youth price for de buffet at onli 13.90 bucks. perhaps 1 dae i shld go n conquer as much sushi as possible by maself when i have a lion's share of appetite.

read ma book at macdonald's in raffles city, titled "a thousand splendid suns" which i bought from MPH in Spring shopping mall in kuching. veri engaging story~ i seldom read storybooks because too few authors could excite mi with their no-substance stories. shall stop here n continue reading.
