Here's June again

May 2011 ended with my last paper on the 19th and trips to Suzhou (19-23 May), Bali (23-27 May) and Malacca/Port Dickson (28-29 May). Back-to-back trips are cool but tiring! It's my only few chances left to do it cos I'll lose my stamina soon when I start work, and when I hit 30 in 4 years' time.

Come tomorrow I'm bringing mum for health check at Raffles Hospital. She still don't know she has to undergo it. Cos I told her MOE required me to bring 1 parent for pre-employment health check. No choice cos she won't go otherwise.

Weather is freaking hot today as I went to Bugis' temple this afternoon. My skin is melting.

Throat felt itchy halfway when asleep last night, and I know I'm getting heaty with fried food. So I bought 1kg of mangosteen for 5 bucks to cool down. Durian is the king of fruits. Mangosteen is the queen!

方大同 Singalong song 正式MV版

My china friend said I looked abit like 方大同 when I wear specs, but he's way much taller than me.

And so, I got this song dedicated to me as farewell. Learning piano in China is cheap. At only 100 yuan (22 sgd) per hour.

Shack

Omg! Today was an utterly shack day for me. Finally got down to clean my dusty room which has made my sinus worse each day. Dump unwanted notes, cleaned the windows, aircon, flipped over my bed, climbed to the top, over my wardrobe... my goodness, every moment was a nightmare!

These luggage aren't a joke. Carried all down from the top of the cabinet (except for the green one which belongs to sis) and they all added up to more than my weight (got contents inside).
As I put all these luggage down, I imagine how many will I have to bring to China if I were to end up going for 6 months. I definitely don't enjoy doing laundry, so i will have to shift my whole wardrobe over?

Flipped over my mattress and saw this Eiffel Tower jigsaw puzzle underneath, which I've slept on it unknowingly for over 10 years.

Little did I know at that time that I will end up in Eiffel Tower for real, 10 years later... Where will I be 10 years from now?

June 2009
Just as I thought I was almost done with the cleaning, I opened my wardrobe which left me speechless.
Very quickly, I got all things in an orderly manner, strikingly clean and free of dust...
So where did the main bulk of rubbish gone to? If not rubbish bin, it would have to be the washing machine in the kitchen.
Since kitchen isn't my territory, I've 'taichi' everything else to mother.

I have plentiful of keepsakes. Still, I find this piece memorable. Father of four? Hoho, that was about 4 years ago.

I still remember that I almost joined the teaching force because my ex was a HOD.
But thank God I made the right choice to enter NTU Nanyang Business School instead. Why?
First and foremost, I hate children. To me, children can be seen but not heard.
Secondly, I can't imagine myself working in a school compound for the rest of my live. Never mind if there is an elevator. But schools are usually 4 to 6 storeys high. What if the staff office is on the ground floor? If you've seen Methodist Girls' School in Aljunied, you will know what I mean.
Thirdly, salary is too low.
Fourthly, I realised short teachers are always being bullied. I still remember having a short male teacher, even shorter than me, whom we weren't afraid and jumped from one end of the class to another like monkeys. Got one time he even took a broom to chase after me, landing on my leg unfortunately.

Fifthly, I can't see the same faces everytime. It will soon bore me to death.
Sixthly, I don't want to be the most-loved teacher just because I don't give out any homework so as to avoid marking them.
Lastly, I am impatient. Ask me to repeat for even one time and I will erupt.
Those who've been to my house will know how small my room was. Despite being small, I took 7 hours to do the cleaning job! It was indeed a menial task, and I would opt to study for 7 hours anytime.

Ryanair's CEO is ma idol

In a news article seen on channelnewsasia.com, Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary said that: "I am shocked to read that crew meals on BA cost 6.5 million pounds a year," he told BBC News, noting that BA wants to cut that cost to 2.5 million. "Why don't BA crews pay for the whole bloody meal and then save the entire 6.5 million (pounds) and pass it on to hard-pressed BA customers in the form of lower fares? The days of rich fat cat employee deals are over."

O'Leary maintained that at Ryanair "we pay our people very well but they work hard, they buy their own meals, which is what everybody should do, and that's why we are able to pass on cheap airfares ... for the travelling public."

So mani nice news todae lol. Suddenli i was recalled of ma flight on emirates to paris. Having fat ass crew wasn't a joke when they kept bumming against ur shoulders as dey walked down de passageway. Till ma fork almost fell onto de floor while eating. SIA girls are still de best...

Coach operators & bus agencies fined S$1.69m for price fixing

Came across tis hot piece of news on channelnewsasia.com now, at marina square starbucks while doin ma revision.

=========================================================

"Sixteen coach operators and the Express Bus Agencies Association have been fined a total of S$1.69 million for engaging in the price fixing of coach tickets.

The Competition Commission of Singapore said on Tuesday its investigations have revealed that the coach operators, together with the association, had agreed to fix the prices of coach tickets for travel between Singapore and destinations in Malaysia from 2006 to 2008.

The commission said that through meetings arranged regularly, the coach operators agreed to fix the prices in two ways.

First, they had minimum selling prices for the coach tickets, depending on the destination. At the last revision of the minimum selling price made on 4 March 2006, the coach operators increased the price of one-way tickets to between S$22 and S$39.

As a result, these coach operators adjusted ticket prices to either at, or above, the minimum selling price, resulting in higher ticket prices.

Fuel and insurance charges that were imposed across the board also marked up ticket prices.

The commission said during this period, it is estimated that the coach operators pocketed over S$3.6 million from the fuel and insurance charges."

Tis is an example of a cartel under economics term? No wonder ma school is drilling so much on ethical conduct on us.

Come to tink of coach prices, it is oso no wonder they have been so expensive. To genting oredi costs almost 100 bucks. I might as well fly by budget airlines to kl for onli 60 bucks. Although from LCCT in kl, I still haf to take a bus to kl city centre by bus for an hour.

The hassle of having to fly, on the other hand, means that people who don't want to climb up and down flights of stairs would still choose to travel by coach, especialli for the elderly. For young people like mi, i juz cant sit still for 7 hours on de coach.

Thus in conclusion, it still boils down to individual preferences at de end of de day. And how best a business can meet de needs of its customers will haf to depend on its target market n positioning.

Was shuffling through ma stack of photographs before sleeping yesterday...

Still remember ma favourite cap and blue tricycle where i rode up n down de corridor. Come to tink of it now, i wonder wat was so fun about it. Yesterday near de market i saw 2 kids trying to catch each other. I was like, "Huh? Fun meh?"

Now i onli haf tis cap wif penguin tat a fren bought for mi from melbourne's penguin parade attraction. ma goodness. i'll never dare to wear it on de street. wonder who would ever buy tis kinda cap for AUD12.00. perhaps i shld make him wear it n parade on de street for mi to see.

Mi n 2nd sis who is seldom home tis daes. Ma big round eyes last time was ma uniqueness? but ma eyes in de pic looks like one big one small. anihow ppl say kids wif big eyes are smart. but how come i am de opposite? perhaps ma big round eyes are long gone. now smaller coz haf been wearing specs for so mani years.

Biometric passport

Finally gotten a biometric passport. Never thought of getting a new passport until after I was almost being refused entry into china last year. Was held up at de immigration for half an hour, being interrogated. Plus i din haf any form of identification wif mi. My old passport is valid until 2014, so it was a waste. however, i dunno how come it has a food crumb beside ma mouth, which looks like a big mold? dirt.
de new passport, though look new n clean, reali pains mi coz it's totalli blank. i've to collect all de stamps from scratch. plus de passport no. is no longer nric no. how to remember when i wanna book a cheap deal last minute but haf no passport wif mi?

so tis is ma new one. costs 70 bucks. lesser pages, lesser valid years. black n white.

Niagara Falls

Since de veri 1st dae i started work, ppl have been commenting on how skinny i become after leaving for studies.
As i browsed thru ma past fotos, reali shocked mi. Above is a classic example back in 2005. But tat was de year i started to slim down abit.
At an office today, bumped into a co worker.
Her: You slim down alot leh! Wat happen to you?
Me: Yalor, alot of ppl oso said tat.
Her: Aiyo, shouldn't say slim. Used for girls. How come become so skinny?
Me: Skinny is a veri bad word to use. Slim better lor.
Her: Cos gals usualli more sensitive lah. Reali so difficult life huh.
Me: Mi oso veri sensitive leh. Uni veri difficult lah. Army life better. haha.
Hate ppl sae i skinny. Jus like how i hate ppl used to sae i'm fat.
