1st time i went for a lecture tis semester, when school is gonna close next week.
Went becos of exam briefing for research methods module.
I finalli saw how de prof looked like. turned out to be veri tom-boy kind, but her presentation skill was damn steady. De way she talked, it totalli grabbed ma attention for de rest of de 1.30 hrs.
2 funny statements she made.
The first statement was: "most of de time students fared badly in exams is becos dey have not learned when to give up. Sometimes u muz give up!" But tat was pertaining to giving up on attempting a question way beyond 30 minutes. I still believe we muz never give up in pursuing our ambition. But it's true tat giving up on attempting a question so as to move on to de next question is a difficult choice to make in exams.
tat was y i haf given up in attendin lectures oso. Last sem i diligently attended all statistics module lecture. in de end onli got b-. For marketing i din attend de lectures i got a-. tis proved dat attendin lectures does not necessarily lead to better grades? But who noes tis time when i dun attend i get below c.
Aniwae, de second funny statement from prof was: "don't study too much. let your mind rest. if u study too much, your mind becomes cluttered. get ample rest, especialli de nite b4 exam."
Lyn who was sitting beside mi was busy copying notes n din catch tat last sentence from prof.
Lyn: Hey, wat did prof juz said huh?
Me: Oh, she asked us not to study for exams at all. LOL.
Lyn: Huh, realli meh?
Me: Yah. cos even if u study oso wun pass. So give up.
Aniwae, am a little happi tat letter-writing test was over tis morning. U may be wondering y are we still tested on letter-writing. in fact i asked maself at de start of tis semester. but who noes for de previous test on letter writing, i onli got 3 upon 6! see how jialat ma engrish can be? somemore i re-read de letter i wrote. no lei... i dun find anithin wrong sia... but comments from tutor were:
- provide onli relevant information
- watch language control (oh, am i too fierce n direct?)
I tink if ma business communication tutor saw ma blog entry, she'll downgrade mi to 0/6 cos of de short-form n grammatically wrong engrish i've used here. Should i start writing in proper English? But in so doing will it remove the "relaxed" element that I am trying to create for my audience? aiya fuck care lah.
i'm gonna faint on de bed soon. so sleepi.
